Important: This thread is for screens / videos of Pcsx2 1.2.2 or newer only (svn)
Now that we have an excelent port of Gsdx, we can make a thread for posting screenshots and videos of our games using Linux, we can use the following format:
*Post the games' name
*Post Compatibility:
Playable - You can get from 'new game' to 'end credits'. This is regardless of FPS, it simply means you could with a great deal of patience, complete the game! eg: Slow, but stable! Ingame - You can get through menus, intro cutscenes / videos, and see ingame graphics, but either due to graphical bugs, crashes, un-resolved errors, you can't play through the entire game. Menus - You can get into the menus, be it past 3D / video intro, memcard checks etc, but when starting a new game, it will lock up, crash, enter a loop etc. Intro - The game will show 2D logos, or video, but will not get into menus. This could be one screen, or 20, but won't show much. Nothing - Exactly what it says, this game crashes before showing any graphics, making any sound etc!
*Post some basic info on your machine specs:
- CPU name and Speed
- RAM Amount in MB
- GPU Make and Model
*Post your PCSX2 Configuration
* PCSX2
* PCSX2 core settings
* Plugins used
* Any Specific Options/Settings/Hacks that are needed to run the game
These are the same specifications that are in the windows forum thread, but I think we also need the following ones too:
* Linux Kernel (3.XX)
* Desktop environment (KDE, Gnome, Enlightenment, Xfce, etc)
* Drivers (NVIDIA or ATI)
PC:
EVGA 600 +80 PSU NVIDIA GTX 550ti EVGA 2GB VRAM
OS: Debian Stretch 64bits
OS: Windows 10 Home
*Post Compatibility: I don't know how compatible it really is. The game loads, models look fine, menus look fine, can move character/interact with things, music and sound effects play fine. But considering how long this game is, I've not had time to properly go through and see if it can be played from start to finish.
*Post some basic info on your machine specs:
- CPU name and Speed: Intel i5-2500k, 3.3ghz
- RAM Amount: 8GB DDR3
- GPU Make and Model: NVIDIA GTX 650 Ti 2GB
*Post your PCSX2 Configuration
* PCSX2: 1.3.0.5900 SVN installed from Pamac
* PCSX2 core settings: Didn't change anything, except I turned on the MTVU speedhack. Using OpenGL hardware mode.
* Plugins used: GSdx (GCC 4.8.2, SSE2) 0.1.16, OnePAD r5900-Dev 1.1.0, SPU2-X 2.0.0
* When I first loaded it up, it sounded like a sci-fi horror movie screech. Enabled "Use the de-alias", changed Module to SDL Audio, changed Sync mode to Async Mix, and set Latency to 40. Sounds wonderful now, no skipping and everything seems to be playing at the right time.
Game runs fine in native mode, but I set a custom res of 1920x1080 with FXAA enabled. Runs great, 60fps in most places. Check Imgur for elaboration on where fps was dropping.
TALES OF ABBYS (NTSC) *Status: Playable *Speed: 55 to 60 FPS *CPU: Intel Core i3 4.0GHz *RAM: 2048MB DDR2 SDRAM *GPU: GeForce GT220 *Kernel: Linux Kernel 3.12-1 *PCSX2 1.3.0.r5894 - compiled on Feb 9 2014 * Speed Hacks: All the recomended hacks enabled *Plugins:
*GPU: GSdx
*SPU: SPU2-X 2.0 (DirectSound) *Desktop Environment : Enlightenment 19 *Drivers: NVIDIA 334.16
The game runs great, no problems with speed so far, very recomended, it is kind of GPU demanding, but it works excelent at native or increasing the resolution a little bit with a weak GPU like mine
PC:
EVGA 600 +80 PSU NVIDIA GTX 550ti EVGA 2GB VRAM
OS: Debian Stretch 64bits
OS: Windows 10 Home
Status: Playable
Distro: Xubuntu 14.04 32 bit with PAE
Desktop: XFCE (don't know the version that comes with this distro)
Kernel: 3.13.0-24-generic
CPU: AMD FX4300 overclocked to around 4.2 ghz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 650 Ti
(I have also used my old AMD 7850 in mesa and proprietary >= 13.8 drivers)
Driver: Nvidia proprietary, 337.19
PCSX2 Version: stable 1.2.2 (reads as 1.3 )
Settings: all default, no speedhacks, native resolution and 8 bit textures ticked
Speed: around 50fps
Notes: Windows version can come to a crawl in the garage in software mode, so hardware mode is mandatory. Linux version does a remarkable job keeping up, in hardware mode, at 40s to low 50s fps. AMD drivers can't even run this game in the garage for Linux version, due to driver problems with Catalyst, and mesa running it ok but being too damn slow.
For in-mission events, software mode is mandatory no matter if Windows or Linux, AMD or Nvidia driver. Windows runs in full speed for SW mode, and Linux version goes low to upper 50's. This demanding game is quite playable for Linux version!
OS: Linux Mint 17.2 64 bit (occasional Antergos/Arch user)
(I am no longer a Windows user)
CPU: Intel Pentium G3258
GPU: Nvidia GTX 650 Ti
