Problem Configuring Ps2 Controller Using Lilypad

Hey, I have recently bought a Ps2 - Usb controller converter to use with PCSX2. In LilyPad my controller is visible in Device Diagnostics, and I can test device - all the buttons register fine. I clicked on the Pad1/Pad2 tabs and assigned all the keys no problem. If I load the Ps2 Browser The pad works (I can browse settings/memory cards, etc). However when I load a game up, the pad is unresponsive. Is there something I have missed? Or any known reason why my games do not recognize the pad? Any help or ideas at all would be greatly appreciated.

You must assign the keys only for Pad1.For Pad2 you must use another controller.
