I think so. In the GSdx plugin menu, my NVIDA card is selected.

But if the op is getting better performance in software mode that would point to the graphics card not being used.

He tried both, and concluded software mode is faster. Please read the thread properly before replying.

I did, he said it's "Fairly stable" not that it was faster. he said "Don't ask me why" Not that it was faster. his only speed improvement comment was for MTVU. MTVU is not software mode.

Also have you changed the number of render threads to 3 (it's your core number minus 1)? if you are set on software mode that could give a huge speed up.

The FPS are more stable, not dipping as much, or less frequently.

Quote: My question is, if my CPU is struggling (wich I agree), why is it more stable with software rendering?

I see your quote but even searching that exact quote i can't seem to view it, probably an issue with my phone(what I'm using to read and reply). I stand corrected and sorry for the issue.

I'd say his vidcard is running in 2d mode rather than 3d mode. I had to add PCSX2.exe to my control panel and force it to high performance (have to do the same in dolphin)

Could you try that?

Nah it's no problem.

Yeah I also think it could be something with the graphics card. Nobbs66 said so too.

I was also wondering if it isn't some stupid VU clamping setting that might have gotten changed.
