Problem with Software Mode
#1
Hello,
i'm pretty new to pcsx2.

My friend told me that when i'm new i should visit the forums to ask questions regarding settings.

So here's my first major problem currently:
Whenever i run a game in Software DX mode it laggs hard. Also the sound is buggy.
Is that a problem with any of my drivers?
Available are DX9 and 11
(tryed to run FIFA12)

Also i can only run G5dx 5403 on SSE2, when i set it to SSE3 or 4.1 it says it is not supported. But everest says my cpu does support SSE3 and SSE4A (so atleast the SSE3 should run or not?

Anyway first of all here are my pc details:

HDD: Western Digital WD5001AALS 500 GB -> 2x, Raid0
GPU: ATI Radeon HD5000 XFX HD5870 XXX
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965
Mainboard: ASRock 890GX Extreme3
RAM: Corsair DIMM 8 GB DDR3-1333 Quad-Kit

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (SP3)
Keyboard: LOGITECH G19 (guess this is not important)

Ah and is there anything spezial that i should change for 16:9 gameplay ?

Thanks for the help. If u need further infos i'll add them.
Oh and sry for my bad english... it's not my native language (obviously xD)

Despite the similarity of the names, SSE3 is unrelated to SSSE3 and the same is true for SSE4a and SSE4.1.
AMDs latest FX CPU series ONLY support the SSSE3 and SSE4.1 instruction sets.
Therefore the recommended GSdx version for AMD users is the SSE2 one, except in the case of an FX processor where you should use SSE4.1.

There is a minor speed loss, but it is only about 10% overall.

When i run it in hardware mode it is not playable, it looks very similiar to that: http://forums.pcsx2.net/attachment.php?aid=39073

So i searched the forums and found that software mode would fix it, but it doesn't for me.

@jesalvein
Ok that explains it xD didn't payed attention to SSE or SSSE xD
So it is right to use the SSE2 version for me. Thanks for clearing that up

Hm.
I see. Your cpu probably wont be strong enough to run it in software mode.
Try setting gsdx software extra threads to 2 or 3, it may help
