Proper 16:9 aspect ratio?
#1
It feels as if I'm missing something here, but I can't seem to get any games to run in proper 16:9 aspect ratio. If I set it to 16:9 in GSDX it's just a 4:3 image stretched across the screen, and we all know how terrible a stretched aspect looks. I've set it to 16:9 in the PS2 bios as well, but that doesn't seem to work. What's the deal? Can PCSX2 even do this?

well that's as much as you can get. Mellow (the image has to be stretched or it won't do 16:9 Smile)

I was under the impression that the majority of new PS2 games these days do 16:9 on a real PS2, so why can't PXS2 do it? Why has this feature been overlooked for so long?

To my understanding it does it normally if a game you're playing supports it. If it has such support you can usually choose 16:9 at the loading screen or from the options menu.

Think of gsdx as a display, your television. The only thing that you can define is its screen ratio, the rest is up to the game, to support it.

It's up to the game Dude, not Pcsx2. If the game doesn't support 16:9 on it's own then neither Jesus Christ can make it happen. Obviously the aspect will be streched because the game format is 4:3. Blame the game developers, not Pcsx2.
