Pull Saves off of Memory Card
#1
I would like to play my copies of Final Fantasy XII and Disgaea on my pc, but the I've put over 100 hours into them collectively so I do not want to start over again. Is there any way for me to get my save files onto my computer and have them work with PCSX2?
System Specs
AMD Phenom II x3 720 @ 3.5GHz
ATI Radeon HD4870 1GB overclocked
4GBs of DDR3 RAM

Savefiles from PS2 to Computer should be not too difficult.
You can then import those savefiles to a PCSX Memorycard file by using a program called MyMc 2.5.
The latest version can be downloaded from this link: http://www.csclub.uwaterloo.ca:11068/mymc/index.html.

Hope it works for you =]

It would be necessary to have a modded PS2 or a piece of hardware intended for the task, correct?

BTW, your link did not work (for me, anyway).

Rezard: link works, the forum caught the full stop in the end as part of the link though Tongue
We already have a guide for that (yes for getting saves off a ps2 memcard too): http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-How-to-us...from-PCSX2

Do I need to have a modded PS2 to get the save files off the memory card?

Edit: So this would work? And since MyMC can export in .max, I would be able to bring my saves from PCSX2 over to my ps2 memory card as well?

I've used 2 techniques to copy files off (and back on) without a modded PS2. The first was using Codebreaker, a cheating cd, which can copy files to a USB thumbdrive but is also useful for dumping your BIOS. The second was to use the PS2 memory card adapter for PS3 to copy files to a PS3 and then copy files from the PS3 to a USB thumbdrive. Needed some tool to unpack the PS3 files to get PS2 file. Action Replay Max might do it as well but I dont know for sure.

Not aware of any technique other than via the cheating devices and/or special hardware. If you have a PS3 then the official memcard adapter may be the easiest approach but not necessarily the cheapest if you can find cb or armax on the cheap.

Edit: You might still require ARMax for the drive so double check before buying. Most games will not use the usb ports and dont think you can boot off a usb normally on a PS2.

All the details are linked. MUST have modded PS2 or some kind of cheating device.

Or perhaps you seek yet another alterative? The only other way would be to search the web for a way to run homebrew/games on a non-modded PS2 with some kind of trick (swap disc, etc...). From there, it would be the same method you would use if your PS2 were modded, I'm sure. This is the only way I can think of if you can not/do not want to mod or spend money. Smile
