It should. If you wanna know the exact STR then you can run the benchmark yourself Smile

Thanks for the link. I'll run the benchmark later.
Hopefully the CPU change was worth it.  Smile

2500k at 4.5 is still a beast. Good choice.

OK, i just tried to run Passmark with my 2500 non K.

Are there any special settings i do have to change in the program and what test do i have to run? Which button do i have to click?
Biggrin The green "Passmark" button on the left side or the yellow "CPU Mark" button? Or even the complete test (incl. Memory Mark, Disk Mark, ...) "Run Benchmark" in the center of the tool?

EDIT

I first clicked on CPU Mark on the left side and then on CPU single threaded - i this correct?

Score: 1959  Blink
Shouldn't the 2500 non K be around 1870 to 1880? At least that's what this list says:

Remember what I wrote?
Also the less background programs, the better the score.

Well it is better then nothing. With a limited upgrade path due to how old it is you didn't make a bad choice. I mean I am still using a 4790k cause why spend all that money for a small boost.. Maybe next generation will give a better boost.
Too bad it is about more cores now instead of making the small amount of cores better.
MOBO - GIGABYTE X570 AORUS MASTER
CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT
RAM - 32 Gigs DDR4
HDD - To many to note. NVEM, SSD and HDD
GPU - Nvidia GTX 1070
OS- Windows 10

Yeah maybe in another 5 years when I replace my monitor there will be a reason to replace my i5 with something newer but for now the i5 is still working perfectly for 1080p@60 which is what my monitor is.

Probably not a huge boost. Making each core much faster is really hard now.

Zen 2 might get around 15-20% higher STP from higher frequencies and architecture tweaks (since it's less mature than intel's). But that won't put it way above Intel. In fact, Intel will probably keep pace with their corresponding update.
