Question about Video Cards and PCSX2
#1
I've read the guide "Will PCSX2 run fast on my computer?"
but i can't understand one thing (basically because i know nothing about hardware).
The new pc i'm buying should run without problems this fantastic emulator (Intel i5 processor, 4GB ram,etc..)
But the only problem is the video card i'm gonna buy: "ASUS GEforce GT220 1GB"
Where is this video card located? between the " reasonable to very good level of speed with both plugins" cards or "Very poor performance" cards?

Sorry for the dumb question but i know nothing about graphic cards Blush

Barely enough. The processor should be fine for most games.

Thanks!
And.. do you think i should get another video card, for a similar price (70€), which is way better?

Don't think so, 70 euro is pretty low budget for a graphics card, but if you can dish out about 100 you can get a way way better 9800GT (at least that's the price here)
Edit: or a radeon 5670 which also supports DX11 so you're future proof too.

Sorry for the double reply.
I've checked out the Tech Specs of the two cards (9800GT and GT220)
and..the values are almost the same between these cards and in some aspects the GT220 even seems to be better than the 9800GT, but i'm totally ignorant in this, so what do makes the 9800 way better than the other card?

(p.s. i'm not saying that you are wrong, i just don't know why the 9800 is technically superior to the other card)

9800GT:

Memory Size / Type
256/512MB GDDR3

Core clock
600 MHz

Memory clock / Bus width
900 MHz / 256 Bit

ROPs/Pixel/Vertex Shaders (now known as cuda processors or something)
16 / 112

GT220:
Memory Size / Type
512MB GDDR3

Core clock
720 MHz

Memory clock / Bus width
790 MHz / 128 Bit

ROPs/Pixel/Vertex Shaders (now known as cuda processors or something)
?? / 48

An estimate comparison, it depends from release to release. I made bold the big caveats of the 220 compared to the 9800

Yeah the 5770 is better but also costs a lot more, 9800gt is still better for the price and for the price of a 5770 I'd rather get a 4870 (cheaper and about as fast) at least until DX11 starts to be worth getting :P
