Question about gsdx and shader
#1
I'm now using old plugin gsdx-890 (from pcsx 0.9.6),it's have support shader, but the later versions (pcsx 0.9.7,0.9.8),gdsx plugins of these versions don't have support shader,I need shader supported in these plugins for my now playing game - kingdom hearts 2,it's lack many effects and graphics because shader not support in these gdsx plugins.

there is a shader support in every GSDX revision ever made without shader support from your GPU ( pixel shader 2 at lest ) GSDX wont run
the ability to chose what kind of shader you want to be rendered disappeared !!!
but i think it has been chosen automatically
if you are running DX9 you may chose pixel shader 2 or 3
DX 10/11 you can only use pixel shader 4 thats why you cant chose a thing
anyway the bug isn't shader related

Im very sorry that your antiquated SM2 chip is not working, the developers will get to fixing it immediately.

The new versions of the plugin simply use the shader version automatically so the option was removed.

What exactly is the problem you're getting with the GSdx included in PCSX2 0.9.7/0.9.8?
What PC specs? What PCSX2 settings? Any screenshots?

When I use gsdx-sse41-890
[Image: 890-1.png]

When change to gsdx-sse41-4600
[Image: 4600-1.png]

I think it has less tile on maps, less particles, less effects in some skills.

Looks definitely broken.

PC specs? PCSX2 settings? Plugin settings?
Are you sure that happens because of the Shader setting?

I'm sure that happens because of the gsdx, the only thing I do is change video plugin gsdx-890 to gsdx-4600,and it happens like these screenshots,I do nothing in other settings, just change video plugin.

What graphics card?

Try updating your card's drivers and updating your DirectX:

Intel 82945G express chipset family 128mb
directX 9.0c
1.49 gb ram
intel core 2 duo CPU E7200 2.53 ghz
I updated my card's driver 2 weeks ago.
gsdx-890 2.85 mb, gsdx-4600 714 kb, this make I think is gsdx-890 have something that support render better than gsdx-4600 ?

you have a gfx chip that fakes directx 9 capability, it doesn't even have real pixel shaders.
