Question about ps2 games in general

I have a question about a ps2 game which I hope someone can answer. The game is TIF 2005. I've managed to extract the file that contains player commentary and made a note of all the names that are called. However, many of the players on the commentary file are from previous versions and are not called. That said the way the commentary works is if you type in the correct name in the in-game editor that player will be called. However, that works for some of the "older" player names that reside in the commentary file but not others, there seems to be something stopping these names from being called. Does anyone know of a way to enable these commentary names because that would add something like a further 500 players being called in the game (or indeed how those names are "switched off" as it were and a way to switch them back on).
