NTFS compression is just that, NTFS compression. If your computer harddrives are formatted to NTFS, you can right click on folders and set them to be compressed. This slows down access to anything in the folder, but it does work similar to .zip or other compression in making the files smaller with the added benefit that you don't have to decompress the files to use them.
