what settings is recommended to use? i always see different settings people use on youtube and it just overwhelms me

Default setting with max internal resolution (1080p) for a good start.

If you get slowdowns, enable the recommended speed hacks and also MTVU. There are games that don't like MTVU but it's extremely rare.

Start at 1080p but with your gpu 2k or 4k shouldn't be an issue. I run most of my games at 4k.
