ROM running slightly slower than it should

I'm playing a ROM I recently downloaded and I'm noticing that the audio during cut-scenes is running slower than it should, I've tried increasing the speed with the F4 command but that just makes the game run way too fast so I'm probably doing something wrong. If someone could help me get this game running properly I'd appreciate it, it's a music game so slow audio kind of ruins it.
