Wow! That's awesome. Thanks.

Now, I have less thing to worry about when choosing my next graphics card.

Thanks again, all. You've been very helpful.

Umm..

A GTX260 by nature is better than a 4850 in general, so you can't really compare performance in emulation... The logical choice would be a 4870.

Personnaly I had both : a radeon HD 4850 and a Geforce GTX260 (now).
Basically, there are no speed differences. I didn't noticed that games run under radeon HD 4850 have more graphical bugs as well.
Sincerely, they are competitive each other.
From far, the CPU dependency is quite more important for speed increase !

No, only in a few circumstances. In many benchmarks the HD 4850 runs the same as a GTX 260 but some times you'll need a HD 4870 to run closer. It all depends on the game.

Just like a GTS 250 or a 9800GTX+ (same thing) can run the same as a GTX 260 in many instances.

its all about how much is internal res, as long as graphic card is not the limitation it shouldn't make a difference in fps.

No.. The GTX260 is the better than the 4850...

The 4850 runs the same as the 9800GTX... The 9800GTX and the GTS250 are the same card, just different manufacturing process..

The GTX260 192 core is slightly less than a radeon 4870 in general performance, whereas a GTX260 216 Core is slightly better than a 4870...

But you don't compare a 4850 and a GTX260... As they're both aimed at different markets and they're different price ranges etc etc......

No. If you knew anything about game benchmarking, you would know it fluctuates. Check benchmarks. They're remarkably similar.

Either way, the reason I mentioned these two cards is because those are the two I'm debating on.

Besides, this is off-topic.

Similar performance, perhaps.. But that's like comparing a 4850 with a 4830... as in.. similar performance.. but they're not competiting with each other.. As the 4830's competiting with the 9800GT/8800GT

Rule of thumb is to compare the 4850 with GTS250/9800GTX/8800GTX.

4870 to compare with the GTX 260 and 192 core and 216 core.

They're similar priced.. You compare on price/performance ratio.

And well.. Here's a gaming benchmark

/Back on topic now...

The performance now, is more or less the same, as it seems with the latest plugin revisions.
