Ratchet And clank 1 problem
#1
Hi Everyone.

So i have a bit of a problem here.
What ever i do i can't make Ratchet and Clank run good with solid 60 FPS.
The game is running really slow at times which is game breaking for me. It's been years since i played this game, so i can't remember if the game runs slow by itself.

I have also tried ratchet and clank 2, and that game works just fine. Solid 60 FPS at all areas around the game.

Does anyone know a fix for this? Or is it just the game being slow?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Get the latest build from here: http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/index.php
Change your renderer to OpenGL hardware and edit your gsdx.ini file and add this line

UserHacks_mipmap = 1

Hopefully, that will look and run quicker. You might want to drop the "Native x4" down to x2 or something too, to relieve stress on your GPU.

Yeah i'm using the 15-10-16 build with the mipmap hacks.

I tried with native and x2 still the same issues where somewhere in the game it drops down to 40 FPS.
But the weird thing is that in Ratchet and Clank 2 it works just fine and the FPS is at solid 60 at all times.

But i'll try the OpenGL and report back.

UPDATE:
Still having issues sadly, in this area it's really bad.

If you could provide us with your PC specs, that might give more insight to your speed issues Smile

You'll want to OC a bit, but you'll also want to move the EE cyclerate hack slider the other way.

Yeh on that rig id keep the ee cycle rate in the middle at 0 but overclock the CPU to 4Ghz or so, but it should be fine mostly Smile

I find it interesting when people buy an overclocking CPU and overclocking motherboard with no intention to overclock or the knowhow Tongue

It will be good for you to learn! Don't go nuts though, especially if you have the stock intel cooler.

They usually don't even know it's made for overclocking, and when they do they usually think it's safer.
