Plenty fast? You said what you have barely cuts it.

His single threaded benchmark score is 1742.

and yours is 1888.

I Don't see how yours barely cuts it and his is plenty fast if he's got worse single threaded performance.

You got a sharp eye, Donovan! What single threaded benchmark score would be sufficient, then? Would 2,165 be sufficient? Cause that's the score of i7 4770k which I might be getting.

Yes that would easily be sufficient but so will the 4670k.

Unless you are running heavily threaded apps then get the 4670k instead.

I'm pretty sure that 9590 can run the game. Just didn't understand how he worked out it will be "Plenty fast"

I would say anything above 1900 with 4 cores will be guaranteed playable although I'm sure less than that would still be okay.

It's very interesting that you're suggesting an i5 cpu. Got me intrigued. Say, though, do these scores refer to an overclocked cpu? Cause I don't overclock. Not sure how to do it and I prefer not mess with the voltage, you see. I hope you guys don't mean that such and such cpus can deal with software mode "just when overclocked".

No, those CPUs are at their stock speeds.

If you are certain you will never overclock then I'd suggest the non-k version. An i5 4670.

My cpu cannot be overclocked and I can play all compatible games.

In terms of PCSX2 that 4670 is quite a bit better than mine.

I suggest an i5 over the i7 because the HyperThreading that the i7 offers doesn't really help PCSX2 much at all.

This discussion has deviated from its original purpose and for me it's all for the better, cause it helps me focus on the specifications of the computer I plan on buying, and of course I want it to be one such a computer that could handle all the hard gems such as Ratchet... ))

For gaming intents and purposes, including sm in pcsx2, do you think the 4670 is powerful enough? The i7 4770 is pretty much in the same price range, shouldn't it be the one I desire?

Same price range? O_O

Haha, well, yeah, maybe not exactly the same price range, but supposing that price doesn't really matter, isn't that 4770 better for gaming and pcsx2?
