Recommended settings for Soul Calibur 2, Soul Calibur 3 and Tekken 4
#1
Hello everyone  Smile

I would like some help if you don't mind. I wish to run Soul Calibur 2, Soul Calibur 3 and Tekken 4 at a reasonable speed on my PC.

The settings that I have configured so far work very well for Soul Calibur 2 and 3. But it does not seem to be the case for Tekken 4.
I have setup my settings in PCSX2 for the following:

Emulation Settings:

Preset: 4 - Aggressive

Video Settings:

Renderer: Direct3D11 (Hardware)
Texture Filtering: Blinear (PS2)
CRC Hack Level: Full (Safest)
Ticked "Allow 8-bit textures"

Sound Settings:

Interpolation: 1 - Linear (simple/okay sound)
Ticked "Disable Effects Processing"
Module: 1 - XAudio 2 (Recommended)

My PC specs are: Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p Intel Pentium Dual Core G3240 3.1GHz 4GB RAM

Do you know if there is a configuration that will work for all games at a reasonable speed? Please help me. I wish to stick to PC I got if possible.

Many thanks.

Kindest regards,

Basically, default settings are best.
What you're looking for here is speed, and you're sacrificing stability for it.
Tekken 4 is very demanding and your PC won't be up to it.

Better keep playing it on your ps2
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Ah OK. What PC would you recommend to play Tekken 4 at a reasonable speed?

A PC that has a CPU with a Single Thread Performance of 2000 or more. Here is a website where you can see which CPU's are up to the task

Windows 11 64 bit OS
Intel Core i7-10700
Geforce RTX 2060 6GB
32 GB DDR4 RAM

Will this be satisfactory to run Soul Calibur 2, Soul Calibur 3 and Tekken 4?

According to the website, the PC I have has a Single Thread Performance of 1,785. Does that mean I cannot run Tekken 4 at a reasonable speed?  Sad

that's why I said : "better keep playing those games on your PS2"
Your PC isn't bad.
Problem is tekken 4 can be insanely demanding.

I understand. Trouble is I am testing this on an arcade cabinet that I have built, and I was hoping that Tekken 4 would work on it since the MAME version isn't quite emulated yet. I am guessing there's no configuration that will work for my PC to run this game, right?  Sad

Correct. You need to upgrade the CPU. Until then you're never going to get it to play at full speed. PCSX2 requires a powerful computer. Otherwise they recommend just playing it on your regular PS2 hardware
