Hello! New to PCSX2 and to emulation, trying to open Silent Hill 2 and getting this message: "Failed to create render device. This may be due to your GPU not supporting the chosen renderer (Auto), or because your graphics drivers need to be updated." followed by "Failed to read shaders/vulkan/tfx.glsl." Already tried updating my drivers, but issue persists. Made sure to select Vulkan and my graphics card, but still nothing.

Update: I tried Direct 3D 11 and 12, then PCSX2 crashed when I tried opening the game. I switched back to Vulkan and selected my graphics card (which didn't work before) but this time it *did* and the game opened. Not sure what I did or why this fixed it. Played the game for a while, ran fine, saved successfully. Tried reopening, didn't work at first, tried the same fix, didn't work. I closed and reopened PCSX2 then it did work but only on Direct 3D 12. If anyone has some advice, that would be great!

I think it was an issue with my graphics card (other games have been crashing too, I'll have to figure out what's going on). I'll give you my specs anyway if you want to look into the problem: CPU: Intel Core i7-9700k Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z390-P GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super Ram: 32 Gb Hopefully that's all you need. Thanks! |
