We can't recommend a good CPU for your motherboard without knowing the make and model of your motherboard!

However, if you are also willing to upgrade your Motherboard, RAM, (and possibly your Power Supply), then I recommend this:

GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2 LGA 1156 Intel P55 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX4GX3M2A1600C8

ZALMAN CNPS10X QUIET 120mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Intel Core i5-760 Lynnfield 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80605I5760

And I recommend ya read this:

My PCSX2 Rig:Windows XP x32 & Windows 7 x64.
i5 2500k @ 4.0 GHz.
nVIDIA GTX 460 1 GB.

Im afraid you motherboard does not support any of the new types of cpu that are avalible today. Your ony choice if you still want to play pcsx2, is to get a new motherboard and a new cpu. But given how old your other stuff is a new pc entirly would be your best option.

That is true but in this case the socket is different. So physically, the motherboard is unable to use the new processors, no matter if you update the BIOS.
