Resolved: [Bug Report] Multiple Games
#11
Another update regarding Sky Odyssey, the latest public beta that the game will run with is r720 and its slightly faster than 0.9.6 final, intro screen flickering and planes hitting invisible walls and what not is still there. Starting at r976 till now it will NOT run at all, with r976 the frame counter will go and say 100% speed, but no picture or sound and pressing buttons does nothing. With revisions after r976 the frame counter and all other info beside it does not show, just says "PCSX2" on the window and sits there (with the DMA does not terminate error spam in console).

So whatever is not letting it run is somewhere between r720 and r976, but iam sure the invisible walls and what not is a different story. Hope this helps narrow down what broke it.

I tried with the SVN R2345 and i does play the intro video although its not full speed and the video has major flickering, when i press start to skip the intro, i can hear the title screen start up, and it does seem to be running because i hear the sounds... however the screen is just black, when i leave it alone for a while it successfully goes into the demo video which btw works perfectly at full speed for me. i managed to get into the aircraft selection screen and i can see the 3d model of the current highlighted aircraft... but no UI, i even got in game and was able to fly for quite awhile (with no gui) seems that "invisible wall" bug is not a Problem. So then, the only thing missing would be the UI... the console did printed out a bit of something:

*PCSX2*: DMA error: 0359d021
Hackfix - NULL GIFchain

Maybe has something to do with the missing UI? maybe not...

I'll post a screen of the craft selection screen and some ingame shots... err what shows atleast.

Sorry for Reviving a month old topic...

P.S Hey Reno, we seem to have similar system specs... so i would assume these results would be the same for both of us atleast.

Notice: The Sky seems un-natural i think a fog is missing? Maybe its the lighting...

Notice: The weird sudden yellow colored water...

Yes I get the exact same results, as of 0.9.7.2333 Sky Odyssey started to run again, much better than it ever did in the history of PCSX2. I can see they are very close to getting this to run near 100% accurate.

Sorry for reviving a 4 month old thread, but I would like to report that I just tested Sky Odyssey on r2923, and it seems to be 100% playable, but it still seems to have issues with the intro video, other then that it seems to work great... Good stuff!

can you try again on r2926? if the issue is just flickering video, try gsdx in software mode, or if its a tearing effect, try the ipu sync hack under the game fixes

yeah, just tired it on r2929, with software mode the video works fine, its a bit slow though at about 45fps (EE was reporting 99-100%), it was slow on both software and hardware mode. Hardware mode seems to have the flickering issue.

Ignoring Issue #1 which was tested using older version of GSdx , moving this thread to resolved sub forums since Issue #2 and #3 have been addressed on the codebase.

If Issue #1 still persists on the latest GSdx version, please make a new bug report with the updated status. Thanks

Thank you for your report.
