Resolved: Gfx glitches are back (FF12) r700 tested
#1
there are graphical glitches present in the 2nd half of the
Final Fantasy 12 intro vid
(I.E. the part showing the MIGHT OF THE ARCADIAN-EMPIRE MWhahaha <-- lol)

I noticed them before but they went away after a few builds or so...
and are back again.

I am currently using build r700, last build I got was r694 and don't recall seeing them...

WHAT? the gfx glitches are not showing in the screen shots I took... they were present in the dark patch along the length of the right ship.... all techo like lines

and the upper dark patches to the left and right of the Paling Crystal.

I am a bit confused... are glitches present or not (in the screenshot vs in reality)?

When you can reproduce these glitches can you find out where it broke again? 694 to 700 are not that many revisions...

That is what I remarking about ....

they
are present in real-time rendering on screen but are
missing from the screenshots....
if you guys insist I will go download each revision in between and try em out....

What did you use to take the screenshot?

If you used something external, try the internal screenshot capture. If you used it, then vice versa.

Hi Blyss,

thats just it I don't remember... I usually use [prntscrn] key to grap a screen shot, open up mspaint via key-shortcut and paste n' save.

I will take a look at that...

Yeah try the internal recorder then, it may capture the issue.

Maybe the glitch is only visible for one or some frames per second. Your eye averages over the frames and sees it constantly. While a screen shot records exactly one frame (which might be the one without the glitch). In that case it would be good to record a video...

Does PCSX2 have an internal video stream recorder other then one for taking screenshots?

any how I tried out r700 again last night.... before installing the latest Nvidia drivers released the other day...
and I couldn't see the glitch... O_O Blink

I will try this later today,
I some times have VLC open playing in the background with an extracted YouTube AVI/mp4/flv

Firefox has a few good extensions for extracting YT streams which is handy because I don't have internet at home...
when I last tested and saw the glitch I may have had such a vlc window open AND paused....
so I could hear FF12 audio clearly....

I have this issue(maybe the same one) with Minecraft in the deep where the gfx fog is heavy I will screen the visual stream IN MINECRAFT! O_O Blink.......

I've had a similar issue happen with VLC before.

ohh yeah I re-looked at those screen shots if VLC was running in the background paused or playing the visual glitches ARE present.... I didn't see anything when I loaded r700 without vlc running (vid loaded ofcourse)
so its not PCSX2's fault...

it appears to be more a DirectX issue....
so I don't know if there is anything to be done with PCSX2 @_@......??

that is when there is a kind of null space in the frame being displayed it is being filled with data from another directx stream namely VLC.....
