Resolved: Microvu bug reports official thread
#1
Ok, this topic is for all your microvu bug reports. A few rules

1) Try changing VU clamping modes for microVU to see if it fixes the problem; and turn-off speedhacks before reporting bugs.
2) Check with superVU or VU interpreters, if it works with them then its a microvu bug and it should be reported here.
3) Check with the latest SVN!
4) Provide all the usual informations. Read how to report a bug from the other thread, and give us all the needed useful info
5) This thread is seriously moderated! No off topics, no comments. Just bug reports and posts that help the devs.

Note from cottonvibes:
When reporting bugs it would be most helpful to have the following information:
1) pcsx2 version (svn / beta)
2) Game name and an image of the bug
3) Any microVU console errors that appear.
4) Does Super VU run the game?

set advanced > clamping to "none" and check again

the game is called Justice League Heroes (NTSC)
everything fully up to date on rev 1341 XD
#cpu everything on
#advanced clamping to none everything else default (tested on normal too)
#gamefixes & speedhacks none

it's a new game directly after the intro vid which works fine (sends some possible infi loops before playing though (sVU hangs before the intro after the main menu^^) half ov the screen is missing but that happens in BOTH VUs

what the console says etc is all in the picture if you want more tell me what xD

I don't know if this qualifies as a micro VU bug report, since micro VU seems to do better than Super VU, but I hope any information about how micro VU behaves differently from super VU will be valuable.

1) pcsx2 svn r1329 (and GSdx r1341)

2) Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance
With microVU0 and microVU1 enabled (and clamp mode on 'normal' or 'none'), if I keep pressing 'start' and 'X' repeatedly once the game starts, I get past the initial menu, through two 'Loading' screens (look like FMVs), and to a cutscene rendered in-game with bad texture problems and mild SPS. After a few seconds, pcsx2 crashes.

3) When the game starts up, the following two lines appear in the console:
microVU1: Cached MicroPrograms = 1
microVU0: Cached MicroPrograms = 1

and the whole time the 'Loading' screens are up, the following line appears over and over again in the console:
microVU1 Warning: Exiting from Possible Infinite Loop [1278]

4) Super VU only gets to just before the two 'Loading' screens before entering some kind of infinite loop.

#Game fixes: None
#Speed Hacks: None
#Advance Options: Default

When I use micro VU1 and VU0 together character on the game is black.
Its OK, when I use only one of the recompilation.

I know its not a bug, but Castlevania LOI also output this on console all the time:
Code:
microVU0: Cached MicroPrograms = 1
microVU0: Cached MicroPrograms = 2
microVU0: Cached MicroPrograms = 3
microVU0: Cached MicroPrograms = 4
microVU0: Cached MicroPrograms = 5
microVU Warning: Block List Overflow
microVU Warning: Block List Overflow
microVU Warning: Block List Overflow
microVU Warning: Block List Overflow
microVU Error: Program went over its cache limit. Size = 0x4032d
The number of Cached MicroPrograms varies from 16 to 5, and the "Size" keeps changing.

About speed, with no speedhacks its 5~10fps slower than sVU, and if you enable the mVU specific hacks, its only 3~6fps slower than sVU.

# Pcsx2 version: 0.9.6 beta 1329
# Cpu eerec on, vurec0 and vurec1 on, MTGS on, MicroVU1 and MicroVU2 on
# Plugins used: Gsdx 0.1.15 - 1341 (hardware and software, dx10, dx9) tryed other version too or zerogs 0.97.1 or ZZ OGL 0.17.162, SPU2-X 1.1.0 or zerospu 0.4.6 r514
# Description: problems with writting and reading that make pcsx2 close, happen when loading screen is almost finished with microVU0 and microVU1 are off, when they are on it doesn't there, happen random or maybe when selecting thing on the menu, happened after completing a pre-mission when pressing continue to go back to menu.
One pic is the error, the other two are the output when using microVU0 and microVU1 the exact time where it would get the error without them on.

Pcsx2 r1361 under Linux
EERecs on, vurecs0,1, microvu1, 2 on, MGTS on, no speedhacks
ZZogl r162 and ZeroGS OGL 0.96.2
This game look pretty with Supervu on my plugin and have a minor issue on GSDX and ZeroGS (stripes). But with microVU on it become a lot of SPSed form girl figure. In SuperVU mode there is no SPS in current revision.

OOps. It's Ghost oin the Shell.
