Resolved-Workaround: [Bug report] Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets [PAL] PS2 Disc and Iso Problem

Hey Guys,

I have a problem with PSCX2. I bought Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Portuguese to play it on PSCX2, because there isn't any iso with this language online.

But I have some problems.

First I tried to boot the disc and appeared this error: Vif1: Unknown VifCmd!

Second, I ripped the disc and converted into an iso. But the problem is always the same.

What can I do? 

I tried many versions of PSXC2: 0.9.4, 0.9.8, 1.4.0 and 1.5.0 dev and nothing happens. I changed the  GS configuration too and I can't play anything. The game doesn't even load the EA logo animation.

Can you guys please help me?

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Please make sure to enclose your emulog in code tags like so (remove the empty space on the closing code tag!):

So, here we go:

Log from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets [PAL] SLES-51219 (it's the Portuguese serial, not English from Europe).
The European version (SLES-51192) works perfectly.

I used pastebin because the log was too long for posting on the forum (exceeds the limit of characters)

It was stuck on the screen of loading the memory card, so after a few minutes I closed it because it was taking me to nowhere.

Can you retest latest dev build? Issue should be resolved now. Make sure you have Automatic Gamefixes enabled.

Here comes a screenshot of Harry in The Burrow, with a portuguese subtitle. There is a small "black zone" with some transparency on the right side of the screen, but that's normal to happen on my PC. It's because I have chosen to sacrifice the graphics a bit for having 100% speed on the game. Otherwise, the game would be always around ~70% speed. Nothing to worry, as I'm already used to it, and most of times I don't "see" it.

You will need to enable Frame Buffer Conversion option in Advanced Settings and Hacks in GSdx plugin settings, you might also need to increase the Blending Accuracy to medium or high if you're using opengl to achieve proper lighting.
