Right Configuration of PCSX2 1.0 for Final Fantasy XII (US Version)
#1
Sad
SadI've been using PCSX2 0.9.8 to play Final Fantasy X and X-2. But I am experiencing slow motion and worse cut scene quality.

Now, Im trying to play the Final Fantasy XII and I think the performance of the PCSX2 1.0 would be better. But I need the right settings and the right BIOS, to be able to play it smoothly.
Here is my computer spec:
1. Intel Core i5-460M processor
2. NVIDIA GeForce 310M CUDA 512 MB
3. 3GB DDR3 Memory

Please Help me. Please Please Please.

Bios : the one coming from your PS2
use recommended speedhacks + set ee cycle rate to 1
Use native res since your GPU is quite weak

that said, since this is a really weak GPU, don't expect miracles.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

I can play FFXII at 50fps (PAL version) on my crappy Intel HD Graphics 4000, so I think his Nvidia should be able to handle it.

As for settings, just use the normal settings, the recommended speed hacks and the MTVU hack and you should get a decent (if not full) speed.

For your BIOS, hook up your PS2 to your laptop/computer (you didn't say which is was) and dump the BIOS using this
Acer Aspire V3-571
OS: Windows 7 64-bit SP1
CPU: Intel i5-3210M @ 3.1GHz (overclocked)
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 (up to 1760MB)
RAM: 6 GB DDR3

Playing: FFX-2

@Ravin1337 You've oced your cpu above 3ghz so i am not surprised you get decent speed with FFXII.
feoh_wizard hasn't oced his cpu plus the nvidia 310 is a really low end gpu which adds to his misery.
@feoh_wizard you can try running the game at native resolution with speed hacks preset set to 3/4 depending on what speeds you are getting. And if you are adventurous enough you can go ahead and oc your cpu but its at your own risk.Hope it helps. And no matter what version of bios you use,it will never affect gameplay speeds. Not even a manual overclock. The in-built processor manager overclocks when it detects high load.

Looking up his i5, it can overclock to 2.8GHz so I'm sure it'd be more than capable to run it at 45-60fps (NTSC).

No.
It would overclock to 2.8ghz if 1 core only is used. Which is'nt likely to happen...

OCing a laptop is very hazardly-dangerous may blown the CPU and perma-damage it and may void the warranty due to unnatural CPU's OCe's overheating.
best to set SH's EE cycle at LV1 and VU cycle stealing at LV1 or LV2,GSdx resolution at 512x512
and addition turn off windows aero, other windows visual effects(System--->advanced system settings--->adjust to best performance

His nvidia has 16 cuda cores, it's an extremely weak gpu.

Your HD4000, bad as it is, is probably 4-5 times faster.

Thanks for all of your replies. It seems like I cannot do anything with my graphics. Maybe I will use the native resolution. But could you give a right configuration for the SPU2x sound?
