Running a little slow in certain areas

Hi, I'm relatively new to the whole PS2 emulation scene but it seems that my computer is having issues running PCSX2, I'm not sure about other games as the only one I care about/want to play is Ratchet & Clank. It sometimes dips down to around 40 FPS which, while still playable, seems to cause a lot of issues with the game. Is it an issue with my specs or is it something to do with my settings? any help is appreciated, thanks!

• Ryzen 5 2600 (OC'd to 4 Ghz)
  
• 16 GB Corsair Vengeance ram
  
• RX 580

that game is heavy intense CPU usage you will get FPS dips...
if you wish to consider to set speedhacks's EE cycle skipping to 1. this will act like a auto-frameskipping and not suffering the a sound slowdown.

i'm currently playing this game btw but slowly i'm on the 5th planet now.

of course my favorite childhood game is CPU intensive lmao. Thanks for the help man, that should hopefully fix the issue!
