I've checked the compatibility and it says the game is playable, and well, it is. But I've got a certain point in game from where I can't continue on. Basically there's a ladder which the character is supposed to go down, but when I approach said ladder, the "Descend ladder - press x" message never comes up. I've tried with other ladders and they do work. So I'm wondering whether this is a emulator issue or has to do with my CD? :| Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go into Advanced, set EE Round Mode to Nearest. Pretty common problem, in the future you might try searching the forums first.
