[SOLVED] Huge problems with GS plugin
#1
Hey guys!

I recently wanted to boot up my PCSX2 again after quite a while. When I wanted to play it gave me an error message, saying that my GS plugin failed, my PC's resources might be insufficient or I lack the right drivers. I highly doubt it's my recources since I have a pretty good PC (specs below) and I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers. When I went into my GS plugin settings I then found out that I was not able to set anything more than Direct3D 9 mode when set to my GPU. When I chose Microsoft Basic Renderer it would let me choose D3D 11. I still don't know what causes the problems. If anybody knows what could be the cause let me know!

PC Specs:
Intel Core i7-4770K
RAM 16GB
Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti w/ 6GB vram (driver version 391.24)

Your system should be fine. What does the GSDX config page look like when the Nvidia drivers are installed?

When you're on the basic driver does it actually boot or does it just throw the same error when you run the emulator?

The GSdx window looks like the following:

Look how the D3D 11 option just disappears.

When I choose the Microsoft Basic Render Driver, the game starts without problems, apart from being slow.

That's really strange.

Does OpenGL work? That's better for your card anyway

Also that is an old GSDX plugin, the SSE4 one doesn't exist anymore I don't think, switch to the AVX2 plugin.

Nah SSE3 and AVX were dropped. He's using the latest. Tho he should use AVX2 instead of SSE4.

Anyway this is a strange issue. Maybe you can reinstall the DX Runtimes ?

Odd.

Some kind of driver issue maybe? Have you tried doing a clean installation of your graphic drivers? (Use DDU to uninstall them, and then install the latest ones again). See if that resolves things.

I tried both DDU and fixing DirectX, both to no effect, sadly. I am playing on OpenGL mode now and it works out, though I'd still like to find out what is wrong with my system.

I solved the problems now by completely reinstalling Windows 10. Now I get the D3D option again. Thanks for your help anyway! Smile

I bet Windows Update broke something like usual.
