[SOLVED] copying memcards to another device
#11
just for grins I used mymc.
I exported the saves from the laptop
deleted the saves on the tower (using mymc)
imported the (exported) saves from the laptop - verified they showed up in the list (they did)
rebooted system
loaded game, still no data
very weird

sorry for the post, just trying to solve this LIVE :-)

.-=[ ONE ]=-.
OK, some clarification. This is NOT PORTABLE, I know the logs say portable emulation station - that is just the foldername. ps2 folder comes empty out of the package - it does not come with an emulator.

.-=[ TWO ]=-.
Not sure where 1.5 came from as I kept extracting and installing the 1.4. However, this last time, I did it again, just to get rid of the 1.5, and realized that the installer was making a NEW folder!!! under my selected folder - so I installed it to:
Code:
/systems/ps2/
but the installer put it at:
Code:
/systems/ps2/pcsx2_1.4.0
I never caught that. So now everything is back to 1.4
recopied the memcards, also edited the paths but still no data.

I will conquer this :-), sort of a game in itself :-)

Solved!

Big problems are always solved by the simplest solution. Apparently I had a different ISO of persona 4 than the one on my tower. For some reason when I loaded up my tower, I loaded a different persona 4 (I have a USA and a Europe - don't ask, I had all these roms in a different folder).

Once I switched to the matching ISO file - everything came back - save states, and memcards

Hopefully this will give someone with a similar issue, another option to check!

:-)

sounds fishy.
i'll pass.
