Tried again with PCSX2 1.5.0-20181023165247 - compiled on Oct 23 2018
in order to make the blockdumps and savestate.

This time I actually recreated the softlock. Randomly. Seems to be reproducable with the savestate.

I made 3 blockdumps, one before starting the sequence, one within the cutscene and one after (softlock state)

Thats right, I reproduced it on 1.4.0 after all. I assume its just a very random bug.

(For all of mt previous tests I never used frameskip to run through the very first cutscenes you cannot skip, this time I used it. Not sure that makes a difference.)

So maybe it never worked correctly after all and this was always broken.

Hi Guys,

I'm a bit dispointed: I've got the original but my PS2 is dead. Of course I also have the freeze problem.

The youtuber preconize the following point:
Disable the "MTVU (Multi-Threaded microVU1)" + the speedhack and please DONT use the 'Turbo Mode'

So I did what he says. I put the Turbo % at 10 and disable the MTVU.
I was able to play about 1hours. The game froze after I met the old tree.

I hope it will help and you will able to fix this thing. I really enjoy if I can play the game.

I have more or less fixed this game. It can be played now but currently I am trying to find a proper solution. Can you post a memory card save right before the savestate that you have posted ?

I double checked. There is no save point before this particular scene, the mechanic is not yet present.

Any memory card savepoint which is followed by the bug will do.

I had the bug this week end (trying the games as i'm unable to make it work on Windows 10), where it crash at the first spectral to normal world change. 

The cutscene was without sound, Raziel was stuck and can't move, i can go to the menu and leave the game to the main menu, and there I ws having a sound in loop.

I tried today with the new build : v1.5.0-dev-3302-gafde59bb1

And it seems to work now.

PS: my test were done on the PAL version of the game.

PS2 : It works 4 times on 5 test...4th test i had the same bug, reload the savestate before the bug happen...and it pass..

PS3 : And I have the sound bug at the second point where you go from spectral to normal world, reloaded save state multiple time, but it doesn't want to work. the games is still playable after this point, but following cutscene will have the sound bug.
