SSE

Hi I wasn't sure where to post this so if it's in wrong place feel free to move it. I got the infamous error "Your CPU does not support SSE 3.01" I know how it's fixed by switching to SSE 2. Is there much difference between SSE 4, 3, and 2? Because if there is I would like to know if there's a way to allow my CPU to support it because I don't want to swap out my dual core with anything, because I've never had to open it up and dual core is rather good. My computer is a Dell Dimension 600 if that's to little the CPU is Intel® Pentium® D CPU 3.20GHz (2 CPUs) and if needed here's my video card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX. Thanks in advance

well, sse3 is supported by that cpu but not SSSE3 (SSE 3.01) n there is no way to make it support it other than buying a new cpu...

there arent much difference anyway between those instruction sets except a little increase in speed in certain games n scene

Damn, even I got confused by the Intel numbering of the SSE. Wink Thought SSE3 = 3.01 and SSSE3 is going to be some bigger version number... but no... I was wrong. Ok then as Ajimosan said, there is nothing you can do, just buy a newer CPU that does support SSSE3 or preferably even SSE4 (To be safe in the future).

The pentium D aren't a good CPU line for PCSX2... That's sadly all that can be said about them. If you upgraded to a C2D at the same speed (3.2ghz) you'd see a massive increase to speed in the emulator. Probably around 25-40% depending on the game.
