Save and load states

Hi, is there a button I can press so I can use save or load states? I feel that it is tiresome and bad for LPs when I have to stop playing and use the menus.

f1 to save, F3 to load, F2 to cycle through save state slots

is there a way to customize the buttons needed to save then? When I use fraps I start recording when I press F1.

You can, cant remember the name of the file you have to edit to do so. Though would be just as easy to change the key for fraps to something like numpad 0.

I guess I would just change fraps again. I just like using the function keys but seems like they're all taken
