I've never observed a performance drop with vsync enabled.
But Vsync bothers me , because I like sometimes to play at maximun speed after
pressing F4. Since the screen tearing is minimal on my screen (you must look
carefully at the screen, and move things fast, before you are able to notice something)
I finally thought that the vsync option is not worth it.
