Settings Questions
#21
(12-27-2017, 11:19 PM)pandubz Wrote: Yes, HW mode mipmapping is a 1.5.0 feature, not available on 1.4.0 and this is necessary to fix many many cases of graphics corruption in the entire Ratchet and Clank series. As LightningTerror said, you can keep it on Automatic and it will work nicely.

As for slowness, the entire Ratchet and Clank series is known to be CPU heavy, and I would suspect that's your problem. On my laptop (specs in signature), setting the EE cyclerate to level 3 and VU Cycle Stealing to level 1 smooths out some lighter slowdowns, but the heavier parts still inevitably slow it down. You can try that combo for yourself, or try lowering the EE cyclerate with no VU Cycle Stealing added to that. Lastly, make sure MTVU is enabled; if you have 3+ CPU cores, that's pretty much a "free FPS" box, for most (but not all) games.

So a octa core is enough?

That does remove most of the lagging,,, but it is still there slightly. ee max on 1.4.0 is @, so that is probably why
I donloaded the 1.5.0 and will test it

It seems to lag more on the .15.0 version.
here is the speedhacks settings:
1. ee cycle rate = 3
2. vu cycle stealing = 1
3. mvu flag hack enabled
4. mtvu enabled

gsdx11 settings:
renderer = direct3d 11
interlacing = auto
texture filtering = bilinear (ps2)
allow 8 bit not selected
resolution customised
hw hacks not selected
mipmapping (ins) = automatic
anastrophic filtering = off
mipmapping is selected

If you have an AMD fx 8320 or 8350 at 4,2 ghz, you should be fine, a good GPU is also needed in Ratchet and Clank up your arsenal, what it is?

Also under GSDX, set half pixel offset to special-texture and enable fast texture invalidation hack for a little boost and avoid glitches in the aquatos level under OpenGL. You should also use OpenGL to display shadows correctly.

in the gsdx menu, enable hw hacks and select advanced settings, those options are found there

overlocking means excessive thermal cooling and throttling, he needs a good cooling system to accomplish that, giving the fact that we don't every and each spec in his pc, we can't just randomly recommend it cz it needs some work in the bios and if he got some cpu problems or failed overclocking then of course we will be blamed for such blind recommendation...his core is quite powerful than mine and i'm getting some decent gameplay on my pc.hardware isn't the issue, it's either drivers,settings or configurations that needs to be adjusted (sw prob)
