Severe lag in Ubuntu

If you are experiencing lagging problems in your pcsx2 app in Ubuntu Linux, that is due to Wayland failing. Switch back to X11 and the problem will go away, if it doesn't work immediately remove the gpu drivers entirely and then try again. In my case I use nvidia.

I was a hardcore Ubuntu fan since the old tan cd days. I loved it and exclusively used it for everything. About three years ago I got a new Ryzen based computer with nvme disk. It was a massive upgrade over my previous 11 year old PC. A fresh install of the latest Ubuntu (at the time) yielded an experience so sluggish it was unbearable. I increased the RAM, changed the video card to a mid range Radeon and still no changes.
