Shadow of the Colossus
#1
Hi guys

These are my specs:

Nvidia 9600MGt
p8600 (2.4Ghz)
4GB ram

Do you think it's possible to run Shadow of the Colossus in an acceptable way?

If yes , what are the best settings to do it?

(Not only to run that particular game but also the other ones).

Thanks a lot guys

Bye

Set gsdx internal res to native, clamp mode to none, and vu cycle stealing speedhackto maximum.
This won't give you full speed, but at least playable speeds for shadow of the colossus.

About the other games : there is no "magic formula" for every game, in fact.

what other games do you have ?
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

If 20~30 fps is acceptable for you, then yes. Wink

My PC spec is a little higher than yours, and the game runs at 30 or less fps, it's not acceptable for me. Glare

Er.... I wonder how you can know what fps you get when you enable speedhacks...
Using fraps, maybe ?

Isn't that shown on the title bar of PCSX2 window? something like "fps: 59.XX"? Blink

and I usually don't use speedhacks. I prefer good Graphic/Sound quality over emu speed...

of course it's shown...
but as long as you use speedhacks, it gives you a wrong number. (edit : especially VU cycle stealing, BTW)

Considering he has low specs for shadow of the colossus, that's why I recommended him to use VU cycle stealing (it's one of the games with which it works very well) without saying him "you'll get xxx fps" because there is no way to know... Wink

As far as i can tell no speedhacks break sotc or show wrong fps. Gone through about 9 colossi with maximum possible speedhacks.
