Should I be getting only 10-20 fps in Shadow of the Colossus with my specs?

The clock frequency on the i7 is too slow, it won't be able to do SOTC with good framerates.

PCSX2 needs 2 fast and powerful CPUs, not 4 or 8 weaker ones, because it will only be able to take advantage of 2 processors anyway.

If you want to try to get better FPS you can:

1. Download the new BETA from PCSX2's main site (r1888) and use the new PCSX2 and plugins

2. make sure Vsync in GSDX is off

3. lower the internal resolution in GSDX or use native mode

4. turn on some speed hacks like in the following picture, but switch 'cycle rate' to x2 and turn up VU Cycle stealing to the first or second increment

5. turn off texture filtering maybe in GSDX and see if it helps also

6. try DX9 in GSDX as well

There's probably more suggestions out there, but I'll leave it there for now I guess. It would also help to take pictures of your settings so we can see how maybe we can optimize the performance for your setup.

The thing you can be most sure of though is that your 5870 is not the problem Wink

That is one seriously powerful GPU.
