Silent Hill 2 FMV Freeze Issue
#1
From the SH2 PCSX2 wiki, it's a known issue that 1.6.0, NTSC-U Greatest Hits version freezes when certain FMVs start to play. The suggested workarounds on that page do not resolve the issue for me. Hoping to see if anyone else has discovered some alternative configurations that might resolve this? The game runs perfectly for me with the exception of this issue!

The page suggests: "Just setting EE Cyclerate to -2 or EE Cyclerate to -1 along with EE Cycle Skipping 1 seems to allow most cutscenes to progress. Fast CDVD may also help."

Have not had luck with those tweaks.

I'm using v2.01 and it's occurring for this build as well.

Please post a copy of the emulog.txt file so we can help you better.

Check Tools > Enable File Logging. If it is already checked, ignore this step.
If you ticked the box in the above step, restart PCSX2.
Click Tools > Open Data Directory to jump to your PCSX2 folder.
Reproduce your issue.
Close PCSX2, and do not open it again.
Go back to your PCSX2 folder. Open the logs folder, and upload the emulog.txt file to this channel.

Yes, I triggered the freeze in that log. I used a save state right before an FMV is triggered. I'm not sure what you mean by verifying my game.

loading savestates can lead to freezes /crashes.no savestate loaded in this log, though
to verify : right on the game in your game list->properties
then click the "verify" button
make sure it returns a green checkmark

Got the green checkmark when verifying.

Attached is a new emulog. This time I started a brand new game and did not save state. Only saved using the internal memory card. Was able to reproduce the FMV freeze at the usual spot. This time I also disabled the 60 FPS hack and set the resolution to the native PS2 setting, and still go the freeze.
