Silent Hill 2 cutscene freezes

Everything has worked so far, but now I'm in Rosewater Park, and the cutscene that activates when James walks up to the waterfront only shows a half-second of him saying "Mary?" and then the screen freezes there. The music keeps playing, but the cutscene itself doesn't progress and now I'm stuck.

How do I fix this?

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Hey, I understand that this thread is a few months old but I'm experiencing the exact same problem. I've never participated in a forum before, so I'm unsure if common edict would have been to make a new thread, if so then sorry about this.

tried using the original disc instead of iso ?

I downloaded the iso (opposed to getting it off my disc) I no longer have any ps2 controller, plus the disc is looking worse for wear, which are the reasons why I'm emulating it, so I can't perform any test but considering the iso I'm using is from a different source I doubt I'd experience the same problem.
