Silent Hill 2 vs Silent Hill 3

Hi there.

My specs:

Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M
Windows 7 64 bit

I play Silent Hill 3 just fine. I just tried the start and Im able to run at 3xnative with no issues.

But when I run Silent Hill 2 just at start we you enter the woods (fog) it drops down to 22 fps with native on.

What am I missing here? Is it the fog that slows down my game?

The first thing is that you're on a laptop, aren't you? Those specs are a bit weak.
SH2 is a somewhat demanding game -- not too bad though.
You might also want to enter the options and turn off the Noise Effect, although it won't be as atmospheric.

I know that my specs are week. The question is why Silent Hill 3 runs better than Silent Hill 2.

I have all my options on default. How do I turn off the noise filter?

It just does? I don't think anyone can really answer that. FF12 runs 5x faster than God Hand for me, even though it's more detailed. Some games are just better optimized for PCSX2.

My specs (lin my profile) can run SH2 fine, 60fps, at 720p. To disable it, R1 in options.

I got it to work 3xnative with AA.
