When emulators get updated, it can effect performance. That's just the nature of emulators. Dolphin is a good example of an emulator that became more and more demanding as it progressed. It's quite possible that Tekken 5 is easier to emulate than tag tournament. Each game behaves differently. For example, take Pong and Breakout on MAME. To look at them, you'd think they were the easiest games to emulate and you could just use an old potato rig to run them. However, they are two of the hardest games to emulate and require decently powerful systems to run them at full speed
