Slow with agws
#1
I have spent multiple hours of trying to configure my pcsx2 to run xenosaga 1 on different occasions I can get almost everything to run at a decent speed by pressing f9 but no matter what i change i can not get it to run decent speed when a A.G.W.S is on screen. I am not all that good with understanding alot about what people talk about when it comes to the advanced areas. I have provided screenshots below of how my settings are after each trial and error to the best of my knowledge of how to make it run faster. (p.s. I can deal with scenes being slow or the audio being faster or is wrong but i need the battles with a.g.w.s to be faster it is so slow to the point I am not even using them atm.)

and here are the specs of my computer.

any way of getting it to speed up even a little bit will be appriciated. the only other way i can get it to speed up to normal is by making the screen black so it is not showing any graphics. which obviously isn't going to do.

Try turning up the ee and vu cycle one by one to get more performance.

Please refer to screenshots before making assumptions The ee cycle rate is already at its max setting of 3 not sure what a gs cycle rate is unless you mean vu cycle rate which is also in the screenshots at max.

Pushing speed hacks to max will likely cause issues.
The best for you would be to get a decent machine.
This game is quite demanding
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

I have tried with them both on 2 also I do not see a difference in fraps. At least in battles.

I have seen someone with a 2.6gh dual core post that it is possible to get it to run nicely do not know if that is true or not.

Sorry, only had a look at your system specs. But, as jesalvein stated this game is quite demanding. The stp of your processor is too low for demanding games. The best you could do to get performance boost is by overclocking your processor. So, play at your ps2 till you get a good hardware upgrade.

Can you explain how to or what is overclocking my processor?

You could overclock your processor in the bios. But, if you are beginner to overclocking. Read some guides on the pros and cons of overclocking and get started.

Hate to sound noobish but can you recommend a good guide for that.

You're trying to run a game that needs very powerful hardware in many of its scenes.
A bit of overclocking will not cut it.
Your settings are already too extreme. Cut back the VU and EE speedhack sliders by one and then
run the game and decide if it's playable or not. Also increase the latency in SPU2-X to about 100ms
and re-enable effects processing. (It doesn't really help with speed anyway.)

If you cannot live with the speed, you will have to get a faster machine.
Intel processor with 2 or more cores, running at > 3.2Ghz will be required.
