I've managed to play through the game (and the two previous ones) up to chapter five, dead men tell no tales.
Running into several minor bugs with this level but have hit a showstopper where bentleys bombs don't appear to have any affect on the enemies (where they did in previous levels) and the grapplecam automatically explodes upon deployment. (where it didn't in previous levels)
Searching on the internet it appears that these bugs are emulation problems rather than problems with the game itself. There are one or two threads (linked below) that offer fixes, but don't present enough information for an incredibly rookie user such as myself or are solved by the original poster without an exchange of information.
It is my hope that you can show me where i'm going wrong and help me come to a solution.

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.
- Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.
- The version of PCSX2 you are using.
- Any non default settings you are using.
- What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

B...But that was very literally the first thing i put up, right at the top. Is this an automated response? I would've thought it would've been immidiate if it was.

Are you using widescreen hacks or codes?
Sly Cooper 1 causes gameplay issues because it hates cheats.

I'm using no hacks (that i'm aware of) and i'm playing sly cooper 3. Sly cooper 1 and 2 have been played to completion with very few problems.

No support for piracy, btw. You have to dump your BIOS from your own PS2 console.
