Smackdown vs Raw 2011 Titantron Issue
#1
Just wanting to know if there was ever a fix for the blank Titantron appearing in Smackdown vs Raw 2011? I've been all over the web and back with Google trying to find some information about how/why this issue is happening, and apparently it used to work in an earlier version of PCSX (0.9.8), and was broken after that release.

I am currently running 1.2.1 (r5875) and so far haven't ran in to any other issues with other games yet, but that minor bug is still relatively annoying to me. Reason I am asking is because the most "recent" threads or posts I've seen on pretty much any site with an answer are at least a year or 3+ old (and the only answer is just use an older version which still doesn't solve the problem). So for the inevitable questions people post in threads about SVR that pop up:

1. Yes I tried software mode, doesn't work in software or hardware
2. Bug is active in 1.2.1 but not in 0.9.8, I downloaded an older version and tried it.
3. Why not just use 0.9.8? Well I have a lot of progress with 1.2.1 and don't want to have to start over since memory card files from newer versions are apparently not compatible with older versions, so the code that handles memory card slots must have changed at some point.
4. Yes I Googled all over looking for a solution and have not found one yet, hence me posting here and looking for any up to date info about this issue.

I've tried just about every combination I can think of for plugin settings, including speed hacks, no speed hacks, you name it I've pretty much tried it to no end. Titantron used to work in Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011 before in a previous build, so it's a core problem with the more recent builds.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Yeah I just tried latest svn build, thanks for that I wasn't quite sure what the svn stuff was so I just tried it. The Titantron works with the newest svn build but the game looks worse than it did with the 1.2.1 build. It's kind of hard to describe, but it doesn't look as clear as it did in 1.2.1. Things are a little more blurry. I have tried using just the new .exe and the old plugins and it still looks the same so it's not the new plugins. I also used software and hardware mode, but honestly software looks significantly worse.

Any ideas why new svn build would make games look worse?

since I have no idea of what you mean by "worse", no.
maybe you could post 2 screenshots to compare ?

Ok I took two screenshots of two different screens to try to show for comparison.

At a menu screen:
Older 1.2.1 build: http://i.imgur.com/r61DZSa.jpg
Newer svn build: http://i.imgur.com/krWWgSB.jpg

Showing in game stuff and menu screen:
Older 1.2.1 build: http://i.imgur.com/OhrM0MB.jpg
Newer svn build: http://i.imgur.com/gm2k2Me.jpg

In the older 1.2.1 build, the Titantron videos do not work, but the game is clearer. The words and icons on the screen, and everything else that is rendered.

At this time when I made the screenshots, the newest svn build I used was v1.2.1-228-gc6c6171 from the http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/index.php site.

I am using identical settings for both (same speed hacks, same plugin and settings, etc). However the newer svn is more blurry than the older 1.2.1 build. That is what I am trying to find a solution to.

looks like an interlace problem.
did you set it to auto, or even tried to press F5 mutliple times to find one that suits you ?

I was using auto on both, older version was more clear with auto. I set interlace to mode 4 (Bob bff) on the new svn which made it more clear but the screen is shaking a lot, especially load screens or menus. Mode 3 (Bob tff) was even more shaky, and the rest are blurry.

So on new svn I can set interlace to Bob bff to make it more clear, but then I have a problem of the screen being shaky. Any way to remedy that?

I assume build question will come up eventually:

CPU: i7-3770k @3.50GHz
Mother Board: ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670
RAM: 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz SDRAM

Thanks again.

EDIT: Solved this issue. Problem with the blend bff/tff settings was the resolution I was running the game at that made it look a bit blurry. I didn't have this issue with the older build, but I just changed resolution to 3x native and it looks crisp. Only issue now that I stated below is that I am getting black screens.

Ok well I believe I figured out a good setting for the game to look better. Only issue I'm really having now though that I didn't have with the older 1.2.1 build is that while playing the game, my screen will go black. I can still hear sound, and everything is happening as normal except the screen is black. I can push buttons, get responses, etc. I just can't see the game. However I can see menus still:

I can't figure out what is causing this issue now. Again settings on the new svn are identical to what I was running on the older 1.2.1 build. I've tried messing with speedhacks, adjusting those settings, even disabling. I've tried just default plugin settings, changing round and clamp settings, using superVU instead of microVU, etc.

I can start to play the game a bit, but then it just goes to a black screen. I didn't have that issue before. Any ideas or suggestions to point me in the right direction? Thanks again.
