Maybe because the region of the game is PAL ?

Unusual case, most likely you just think that's the speed for PS2 unless you're actually playing both at the same time to tell Tongue2

Any version of FF12 we know of run at the right speed with auto limiting enabled.
That's 50fps PAL and 60fps NTSC.

Probably an isolated case or something. 40-45 FPS in FFX on my laptop results in a noticeable 'slo-mo' effect; the music is slower and everything in general is slower than when I play on the PS2 and when I play on my desktop at 50 FPS.

I think I see the reason why now. FRAPS is reading the framerates wrong. I'm getting like 55-60 frames on SOTC through the emulator itself but FRAPS tells me I'm at 45 frames. I did limit my frames to 45 though.
