SotC won't run right.

It starts up fine, but as soon as the intro starts, the FPS takes a dip to about 16 and it's juts unbearable. I think I've ticked everything I can to adjust the speed. Here's my setup, and bear in mind that I'm not that computer savvy. Any help would be appreciated. I figured my rig would have been enough to handle this, as I just want to play this one game.

SotC needs quite a system to run properly. get the latest beta of pcsx2 and plugins from this forum and post your configuration of pcsx2 and your plugins, preferably as screenshots. i'm able to run this game at playable speeds with a very similar system to yours, but i don't know how much difference the 600mhz clock speed of the cpu makes.

The game is very! gpu limited. I cannot, for example, turn my D3D internal resolution any higher than 800*600, else it gets slower.
This is on a nvidia gtx260 Wink

Edit:
Wow, ZeroGS. May I ask why you choose this plugin?

That option isn't showing up in the drop down box.

Okay, I DL'ed all of that and ran it again, but it's the same thing happening. DirectX is updated...i don't know. Under the graphics tab in config, it has a lot more options. Either Gsdx 890 or 1479 and choises between those of either SSE2, 3 or 4. I have no clue about these things.

select "gsdx ssse3 r1479", open its settings and set the "renderer" to dx10 hardware. set the "d3d internal res" to something like 800x600. then open the speed hacks config of pcsx2 and activate "ee sync hack 2x" and "vu cycle stealing", i have tested all settings of the latter and the game seems to work fine even if you set this speed hack to "very large speedup". so experiment a bit how much of it you need for playable fps values, the speed hacks in the middle section don't seem to affect this game that much. it's a bit difficult to tell how good this game is really running, as it has a built in frame skipping mechanism, which seems to sometimes not get along with more agressive speed hacks configurations, so you'll probably experience slowdowns and lag even if pcsx2 tells you it's running at 50/60 fps. well, it's probably not the best game to start with pcsx2 (...yet) Wink

Well, after switching to those things, the FPS went up to about 19 and would sometimes spike to 24. I really appreciate the help, man, but I don't know what else to do. I thought for sure I'd have a good enough rig for this. This is the only game I want to play as well.
