Star Ocean 3 (Resolved)
#1
I've searched the forums, and I didn't see anything about this.

I can't get Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (U) working. It's listed as "playable" on the main site.

I've tried with the suggested Gamefix - VU Add/Sub Hack and without. It just doesn't do anything. It boots up and then I get a black screen with no sound or graphics.

Every other game I've tried has worked 100%, so is there some special setting other than the Gamefix for Tri-Ace games?

PC specs? PCSX2 settings? Any kind of error in the pcsx2 output window? Did you try running it from both the original disc and an ISO?

I run all of my games from the original disc, I don't have (or know how to get) PS2 ISO's.
I'm not sure if there's any errors... Here's the output window when I start up PCSX2 and try to run SO3. I closed it before I took the screenshot, so that's why it has all of that at the bottom.
I believe it has my PC specs up top, too. (Sorry, I'm very non-computer savvy)

You did not mention your settings. Atleast get the latest plugin pack and beta.

CPU: C2D E8400 @ 3.6
GPU: GTX 560Ti 2Gb
MOB: Asus P5QL
RAM: Crucial 4Gb

Trying the newest beta, it's been "isoReadBlock: 211------ > 116" with the ------ rapidly increasing for about five minutes. Is that supposed to happen?

I gave up on waiting and I've been playing around with more config options. Still can't get it to run.

Wrong CDVD configuration or bad/corrupted ISO image.

dump an iso from your disc.

isoreadblock error means most of the time an error while reading your dvd.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

The DVD works on my original PS2 just fine, which makes me believe it's not damaged or anything. My CDVD config works for every other game I've tried.

I'll try this now, getting the necessary program.

It plays from the dumped ISO perfectly (so far)!
Thank you for helping me resolve this issue.
