My mistake. I thought this cpu was simply the non-k version of Llano chip. For laptops, there is really nothing you can do. You are almost better off replacing a laptop vs upgrading when it comes to costs involved.

well dang I bought this last year and already had to put a new hardrive in it that friend like 2 months ago Well i suppose Ill ask whats a good model thats not to costly for a pc? not a laptop
Just look at my sig and get that for good price/performance ratio. Or get a Kaveri APU when it comes out. You'll save some money doing that.

Guys, please make a thread in hardware/software section if you wanna discuss a build. We like to keep this thread as clean as possible. Thanks!

Laptop user here. I am trying to play Shadow of Collossus from ISO. It runs, but not as nice as some older rigs on youtube. I pretty much downloaded PCSX2 and used default everything. Here are my specs:

Here are my specs: 1 - that CPU is weak for pcsx2 and you'll probably get a hard time running most games @ playable Fps. 2 - that GPU isn't great either, but should be enough to play @ native as long as this is not a GPU demanding game. 3 - don't trust youtube videos. they will always play @ full speed even if the user had an average 3 fps when he recorded his gameplay. 4 - SOTC is one of most demanding games under pcsx2 (remember it even lagged on your PS2 ?) luckily, Vu cycle stealing speedhack may help a lot in this game. 5 - If you want further support about this game on your laptop, create your own thread, please

which processor is best to run Pcsx2, AMD FX4300 or Core I3 3240?
01-12-2014, 01:34 AM
It's kind of a toss up. The FX4300 has 4 real cores(but PCSX2 will only use 2, or 3 with MTVU hack). The i3 has 2 cores and 2 HT cores, but much faster single threaded performance.
If you are willing to overclock the FX 4300 will likely be faster with MTVU. Otherwise the i3 will be faster. Gaming Rig: Intel i7 6700k @ 4.8Ghz | GTX 1070 TI | 32GB RAM | 960GB(480GB+480GB RAID0) SSD | 2x 1TB HDD |
