Read first: Will PCSX2 run fast on my computer?
I have an AMD Athlon II 260 X2 Processor (3.20 GHz)

Is this enough to run games like Crash Twinsanity at 30-40fps on normal speed? No matter how low the settings go I can't seem to run the games without EXTREME lag that makes the game completely unplayable.

Do I need a new graphics card? More RAM? Am I just an idiot and the answer is right in front of me? Did I ***** up the setup?

Could someone tell me how to fix this, or at least tell me what I'm doing wrong?

unfortunately, AMD processors are well known for its bad performance for pcsx2 emulation..

How do you guys even find 30-40fps reasonable? PCSX2 emulation is Not like PC gaming, anything less than 60fps will make the game run in slow motion, 30 is just way too low! IMO if the game isn't running at 60fps most of the time, do yourself a favor and play it on console (which you should own if you're running this emulator).

this is not a support thread, create your own one.
And please start by having a look at the config guide http://pcsx2.net/config-guide/guide-translations.html

Do you know about any good processors?

Intel Sandy bridge and Ivy bridge Core i processors are the best right now. Core i3 2100 or 2120 are probably the least expensive Core i options right now (Keep in mind you'll need to upgrade your entire socket (motherboard, CPU..etc) to change the processor.

Mostly cpu intensive games should give you a real time boost . Plus you could play games at a higher internal res like 3x now I suppose looking at your Gpu.
