Im interested in playing Shaddow of the Colossous, can i play it smoothly and how far can i upscale it? (ive seen some vids on amazing settings and i managed to play FFX looking a lot better, altough i dont exactly remember how i did it lol)

You won't play shadow of the colossus with that, unfortunately. That is like the most demanding game there is.

You might play some less demanding games and some with speedhacks. Some, like FFX you mentioned, you will even be able to upscale. But your system is far from ideal unfortunately.

honestly, pop your PS2 DVD in your PC and give a try to pcsx2.
with vu cycle stealing speedhacks @ 1, it should be ok.

Really?

His processor is half as fast as mine and I have trouble with it. I bought it the other day at the pawn shop just to see lmao.

Oh well, but yeah, why not just try it? I need to start saying that.

3.20 isn't half of 4.12 Wink
Anyways, this may be explained by the fact Ivy bridge is really better than Vishera in terms of emulation Wink

Nooo... but 3156 is less than half of 7000ish(synthetic benchmark scores) and 2 cores is 33% of 6(4 with HT is 66%)

But on the other point... maybe, and I didn't try any speed hacks.

I have to agree with you on this. There is no chance to run SotC because I have an overall better rig and I know it wont run it at full speed if Jak 2 lags in software.

That would be better to compare them on FFX-2 benchmark. But anyways, SotC is a "special" game since
- It's slowed down by MTVU hack
- It works around 60 Fps with vu cycle stealing enabled only (since it's not working @ full speed on a real PS2 either)
And of course, you know that 6 cores are'nt really useful for pcsx2 ?

@nobbs66 : please refrain yourself from stating things when it's useless. thanks.

Okay, you got me. I didn't know that about MTVU(and I have a thread about it http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-LIST-Game...-with-MTVU and no one told me!(And I'm adding it now, so don't look and say "Yes, it's there!") No 6 cores is not useful, but 3 real cores, full cores( 3 modules, regardless of how you break down bulldozer\piledriver, 3 modules has at least 3, full and very complete cores) is better than 2 cores + 2 HT cores. But if MTVU is useless then yeah.

Point 2, I didn't know that.

So yeah, well, I still honestly doubt it, but the point is my info was all wrong. So, my bad.

Sorry! >_<

So yeah, enough of this. Back on topic!

Edit: And MTVU was on when I tested it, so... yeah.
