Stopping DVD drive from spinning down?
#1
Is there any way to do it, specifically through PCSX2? I have no problem running the games at full speed without any hacks; however, my DVD drive constantly spins down and up again, causing a one or two second "freeze" every few seconds the game is running. Or is there a hack to fix this that I'm unaware of? Thanks in advance!

Well the easiest fix would be to just make an iso image of your game and run it through that...will boost your loading times too.
To manipulate how your cd/dvd rom spins, you'll need some external program, not possible through PCSX2

no there's no way Sad (if the devs could make it that the plugin would make the drive keep spinning at 4x (not at its fullspeed) so that it doesn't have this problem and at the same time not overheat Sad)

How do you run from ISO? I have a few on my hard drive, but I can't find the option to run them in PCSX2.

You have to make an iso image of your disc first. Do it with a program like imgburn
